Karpathos Information

Karpathos is the 2nd in size island of the Dodecanese complex. It is known for its natural beauty and for the fact that the local residents keep their traditions more alive than and in any other corner of both the islands and mainland of Greece. More than just the beauty that is conveyed through its traditions, Karpathos allows its natural beauty to caress your eyes. Tall mountains and exquisite nature are its main characteristics. Its mountains end up to embroidered seashores, coastlines with white sandy beaches. Kyra-Panagia, Achata, Apela, are some of its beautiful beaches. The white beaches are beautifully combined with the light blue of the sea. The mountains are full of pine trees and hide in them beautiful small villages that compose the centre of attraction for the summer visitors.

In the South-western department of Karpathos, opposite from Kasos, afte the capital Pigadia and a little more further the graphic Finiki, ARKASA marches as "a big lady". A real small town, with so much natural beauties but also with rapid development in each sector and specifically in the Agro-tourism. Arkasians following, the rythm of current season, escaped perceptibly, so much from the older employment in Agricultural and Veterinarian, and from the old plague of ommigration (with few exceptions) investing in relevant enterprises, in and round the village. By an off-hand glance to the village you can see today amazing new houses that lend certain elements of modernism.

Today Arkasa and Finiki have a lot of Hotels, Rented Apartments and Rooms, capable to entertain more than 1000 visitors. They have also lot of Taverns, Restaurants, Cafeterias, Club and mini market... even Hairdresser's, Confectionery, Rent a car or bike, butcher's shop and more!
